An epic story of human expansion and intrusion into the lives of simple villagers living a near feudal magical existence on an alien world. Knights, dragons, and seers are pitted against the starships, artificial intelligence, and robotic assemblies of the technically sophisticated human agents of two empires, whose actions in themselves appear magical. The story is told from each of their perspectives. The natives seek help from the Ilu, those immortal beings they worship, to whom anything is possible. The trespassers seek the assistance of their respective heavily armed armadas. Each has noble intentions, but as seen from the other's perspective, their objectives are highly questionable. And, as would be expected, initial intents don't always work out.
