The book is about a beautiful bird named Rika, who lives in a garden tended by a couple who takes care of the birds that are rescued or that needed care until they are ready to fly. Rika lives in the tree in the middle of the garden that has many other caged birds that sing beautifully. Rika has learned every bird's song but her own. The couple come up with a plan to have Rika learn the song she was created to sing and eventually be able to fly and share her song with the world around her.
