THE HOLY ORDER OF WOMB WOMEN Susan Lambert begins each day with a prayer, "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I put my trust in you," never expecting an answer. Suddenly, with the ring of a bell, her prayer is answered. Her ordinary life becomes extraordinary as women from scripture come to her and take her into their stories. The everyday reality of their sorrows and joys, losses and loves, pains and passions define the wisdom each shares with Susan, preparing her for the next step in her life. Through the stories of Eve, Sarah, Hagar, Rebekeh, Leah, Rachel, Miriam, Martha and the four Mary's Susan revisits her own story of love and motherhood as she struggles to discover and claim her womanhood.
